supplements, forever living supplements, forever living products, forever living

The other day, this thought crossed my mind. Are we taking too many supplements? It wasn’t the first time I’d thought about this, either – I was lucky enough to hear a talk by Patrick Holford at our Success Day back in June, which covered this question.

Before I became involved with Forever Living, I was one of many people who took supplements purchased from high street chemists. However, I very often didn’t feel any difference, so I stopped taking them. Then in time, I’d start again, then stop again – a vicious circle!

It wasn’t until I started taking an interest in nutrition – and especially my own health later in life – that I started to understand the reason for taking supplements.

It all began when by son Sam started senior school. For me, that meant having to get up earlier to take him to the coach stop! At the time, I found it really hard to wake up easily, and I felt as though I didn’t have any energy at all.

This is what led me to take Forever Living’s Aloe Drinking Gel.  Even though it was an acquired taste, I soon got used to it and I quickly began to feel a lot better.  It was then I started taking other supplements, which gave me an additional feeling of wellness on top of my usual healthy diet and exercise regime.

Today, I take a range of supplements by Forever Living – which are a higher quality than those you’d find in high street stores or supermarkets. And that’s what it comes down to – it’s not about the volume of the supplements we take, but the quality of them.

Of course, they can only do their magic alongside a healthy diet and exercise, but in the right balance, your body will then get everything it needs to function and flourish (the vitamins B, C and D are very important, along with omega 3 too!).

We all know how good water is for us, and nowadays, we’re spoiled for choice as to how we drink it. Filtered, bottled, from the tap – so many brands and so many types. But do you ever stop and think where it comes from?

Personally, at home I drink filtered water, and if I’m out and about, I’ll take a bottle of Forever Living’s bottled water with me. Sourced from the Cheddar Valley, it always tastes really good and perfectly pure.

However, sometimes things don’t go to plan, and the other day, I found myself out of the house with no water on me, and thirsty!  I went into Waitrose and picked up a bottle of their own-brand Essential water, and didn’t think anything of it until I tasted it.

Something just wasn’t right. In my opinion, the water tasted metallic. In this case, it was my only option, but the experience definitely reminded to always take at least a couple of bottles of Forever’s water with me when I’m out for the day or on a long journey!

It also reminded me how important it is to know what you’re buying and where it comes from.  As a matter of course, I buy organically as much as possible, and I always ask whether products are tested on animals. It’s hard to believe but lots of top-selling branded products are still tested on animals, especially cleaning products.

What we put into and onto our bodies can affect us in so many different ways.  I am a proud Forever business owner because:

  1. we have never tested on animals, and
  2. we know exactly what is in our products!

In fact, all the raw materials in our products are sourced and produced by us – a fact I can vouch for following my recent visit to Forever Living’s base in Phoenix, Arizona, where I witnessed first hand how our wonderful products are put together and the amazing quality controls in place.

Do you know what you’re putting into or onto your body? If not, it might be worth getting some Forever Living products on your side…

I was probably the most sceptical person a few years ago regarding taking supplements. That was until I was introduced to health and wellbeing products bby Forever Living who are world leaders in Aloe Vera.

The reason I was sceptical about taking supplements was that I did used to take them when I saw an advertisement either on the TV or in a magazine etc. So I tried wellwoman menopace etc from Boots. I noticed over time that I didn’t really feel any different. I thought I ate a balanced diet and exercised so that was enough for me!

When my son started senior school I was finding it increasingly difficult to get up in the mornings so decided to give the drink gel a go as I had nothing to lose as there was a 60 day money back guarantee. So that would mean I could give it back if it didn’t work.

Aloe vera is so beneficial and if it’s the only supplement you take then it’s a good one. Some take it for a reason such as gut health for IBS, ultra colitis or crohns etc though I take it as a supplement to enhance my health. It’s great for the gut and absorbs all your nutrients from your food. It also contains essential vitamins such as A, C, E B12 and folic acid including choline.

Minerals it contains are calcium ,manganese, sodium, potassium, copper, magnesium, zinc, chromium, iron and many enzymes and two sorts of sugars, monosaccharides such as glucose and fructose and long chain sugars called polysaccharides.

Bee pollen is made by honey bees and is the food of the young bee. It is considered a complete food and is richer in proteins than any animal source. It contains nearly all the nutrients required by humans and more amino acids than beef, eggs or cheese of equal weight.

Bee gathered pollens are rich in proteins and free amino acids and vitamins including the B complex and folic acid.

About half of its protein is in the form of free amino acids that are ready to be used by the body. Dr Gabriel Cousens has listed bee pollen as one of his 22 most recommended energy foods.

So what are the reasons to add bee pollen to your daily diet?

  1. Energy enhance – the range of nutrients found within bee pollen make it a great natural energizer.
  2. Skin soother bee pollen is often used in topical products that aim to treat inflammatory conditions and other skin irritations like eczema or psoriasis.
  3. Respiratory system – It contains a high quantity of antioxidants
  4. Treating allergies – Pollen reduces the presence of histamine so if you suffer from any allergies it is great to take this to alleviate symptoms
  5. Digestive system – contains enzymes that can aid digestion. Enzymes assist your body by absorbing the nutrients you need from the food that we eat.
  6. Immune system – pollen is good for the intestinal flora and therefore supports the immune system
  7. treats addictions – can be used for healing addictions and inhibiting cravings so could be beneficial in weight management.
  8. supports the cardivasular system bee pollen contains large amounts of rutin and antioxidant bioflavonoid that helps strengthen blood vessels and assist with circulatory problems
  9. infertility problems- bee pollen stimulates and restores ovarian function and may assist in accelerating pregnancy. It is also a great aphrodisiac!

The bee vitamin is water soluble which means it is expelled out of the body and therefore needs to be topped up throughout the day. For more information about B vitamins then please get in touch by email at hello@ginablundell.com or visit my website www.ginablundell.myforever.biz

I’m a great believer in the benefits of great nutrition and exercise, and a particular product in our range that I love is the Argi+. Personally, I don’t use it every day (although you can!); instead, it’s something I have when I’m doing cardio exercise – which could range from horse riding, to spin class or even a boot camp!

Argi is a great supplement for all types of people. Of course, it’s no surprise that sports people and people who go to the gym are key groups who will benefit from its qualities. In fact, one of my clients has just undertaken a country-wide cycle ride from John O’ Groats to Lands End, and added Argi to his breakfast every day to get him through!

However, it’s also perfect for busy parents, people with physical jobs – and even my mum loves it too, saying it gives her a real boost in the day!

I love the Argi+ because it’s so versatile. I can use it before exercise, during it, or afterwards, promoting the recovery of my muscles. One pack contains 80mg of vitamin C and a whole host of other synergistic vitamins, including vitamins K, D B6 and B12 too.

These vitamins are paramount to good nutrition, as I learned when I had the chance to listen to Patrick Holford at one of our events. However healthy your diet, supplements can be an absolutely key addition – especially vitamins B and C. These vitamins are water soluble, which means they are easily expelled from the body throughout the day – so it’s really important that they’re kept well topped up. That’s where supplements like Argi are a perfect enhancement to a healthy, balanced diet.

As well as ensuring your body has enough vitamin B and C, it’s also essential to include Omega 3 fatty acids in your diet. Sometimes, it’s too easy to take our health for granted, reaching a point where we don’t take care of ourselves properly – particularly where stress is involved. And as stress has such a detrimental effect on our immune system, it’s crucial that we reduce it and help our bodies to cope with it where we can.

I must admit, before I learned about the importance of nutrition, I was really sceptical about taking lots of supplements. However, the more I’ve learned through my reading and hearing top nutritionists speak, I now know why it’s so important. Therefore, I shouldn’t be surprised that my healthy diet and exercise regime make me feel fantastic.

If you’re ready to get an added boost to your life, put our Argi+ to the test, and feel the benefits it brings! Feel free to get in touch, and I’ll be pleased to provide any further information you might need.

Your mind is the most powerful thing you have. It determines how you see the world, and really can determine what you can achieve.

Now, this is a subject I’ve read a great number of books on, all of which have taught me about our fascinating mind – as well as teaching me I still have much more to learn!

One thing I have discovered is that it is possible to change your mindset from a negative one to a positive one in a single moment, reversing what you’re thinking about and helping you see things differently.

Here’s an example of my own from the other day.

I was driving my car on my way to meet someone when I hit a traffic jam – a fairly common thing that could happen to any of us! Now, previously this would have set me off fuming, huffing and puffing knowing I needed to be somewhere and was going to be late. Sometimes, it could even turn to overwhelming blind panic as I’d worry what on earth I was I to do!

Now, as I felt those emotions rise, I realised there was actually nothing I could do about the traffic jam. All I had in my power was to call the person I was due to meet and explain the situation. Then, I could either feel fed up – or change what I was thinking about.

So, once I’d called the person, I took a moment to think about how I could pass the time. I had a few CDs in my car about personal development, as well as some of my favourite music. And just this action of thinking about what I could do in this time switched my mindset in an instant. I started to imagine I was at home and thought about all the positive things I was looking forward to. I listened to my affirmations and some inspirational CDs – and in that instant my mindset changed because I decided to change it.

Ultimately, it’s all about how you respond to situations that dictates how things work out. I could have let that traffic jam really affect my mood. I could have written the whole day off due to a ‘bad start’. But, by switching my mindset to think about positive things, I made myself believe this day was going to turn out great!

It’s a small trick, but it’s really important to take a little bit of time each day to consider how you’re reacting to a situation. And if you’re not reacting as well as you could, it really is possible to decide not to dwell on the situation and switch to visualising a great day – in just an instant.

As I said, changing your mindset will happen when you decide to change it. How many times do you hear people putting things off, saying, “Oh, I’ll start on Monday,” or “I’ll leave it to the weekend”?

These are simply excuses for not starting something new, whether it’s losing weight or a trying a new way of working. If you really want to start something, start it now!

Changing your mindset really is possible, and once you’ve tried it a few times, you’ll find it easier and easier. Just remember:

  • The past cannot be changed so don’t live there
  • Everyone’s journey is different
  • Overthinking leads to sadness
  • Happiness is found within you
  • Positive thoughts create positive outcomes

So the next time you’re feeling negative about life or a particular situation, remember: you have the power to change it!
